I learned and taught at the Harvard Business School a career management process in which the core concept was high performance is a function of the goodness-of-fit between a person’s enduring habitual patterns and the demands of any job or career.  It’s like putting your hand in a glove–if the glove fits you will perform better. If the glove doesn’t fit, your performance will decline.
